AI is a Floor Raiser, not a Ceiling Raiser - Elroy

Having tailor made learning resources can be a boon to learners, but gaining mastery isn’t going to get easier. You might get to intermediate levels quickly though. I worry that getting past intermediate levels is hard for learners who are so used to using AI to write their code for them.

No, AI is not Making Engineers 10x as Productive

A thorough article investigating if AI makes you more or less effective. I guess the title spoils it, but this article has some good arguments.

The Hype is the Product

The major services we use and need run on hype and user lock in. Us as customers are not important, merely a tool to get to what is important to these people; the stock price going up forever.

Exclusive The high costs and thin margins threatening AI coding startups

Running a startup based on AI seems so risky to me. It’s so expensive to run LLMs that your own users won’t pay enough to cover your costs, and if you hit a good market fit you will get squeezed by the LLM providers by them raising prices or offering the same product for cheaper.
